WHO WE ARE:

Our vision is to help people become fully committed followers
of Jesus Christ and to see transformation in our town through Christ-followers.

We are people of love.

We value all people.

Who we are:

It’s impossible to love someone if we think we’re better than them. We commit to doing the hard work of learning their stories.

We share the good news of Jesus.
Jesus is good for everybody.
We live lives of joy.
Our hope in Jesus is greater than our struggles on Earth.

We are people who love Jesus.

We are growing in the Word of God.
The Word of God is true and life-giving and we are not apathetic in our reliance on it.
We are authentic.
We love from the center of who we are in Christ.
We are growing in our ability to love.
God’s love working through us is better than anything we can ever offer on our own.

We are people who go.

We respond with gratitude.
We’re so grateful for what Jesus has done that we can’t help but thank him.
We respond with obedience.
God’s overwhelming goodness compels us to obey because we trust God knows what’s best.
We respond with love.
We are people who go out into the world to share the love we have received from the Lord.

Statement of Faith:

United Methodists share a common heritage with all Christians. According to our foundational statement
of beliefs in The Book of Discipline, we share the following basic affirmations in common with all Christian communities:

Our Christian Beliefs: God

God, who is one, is revealed in three distinct persons.

Our Christian Beliefs: Jesus

We believe in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ. God became human in Jesus of Nazareth; and his life,
death and resurrection demonstrate God’s redeeming love.

Our Christian Beliefs: The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God’s present activity in our midst. When we sense God’s leading, God’s challenge, or God’s support or comfort,
it is the Holy Spirit at work.

Our Christian Beliefs: Human Beings

Genesis 1:27 asserts that we have been made in the image of the Creator. Like God we have the capacity to love and care, to communicate, and to create.

Our Christian Beliefs: The Church

The church is the body of Christ, an extension of Christ’s life and ministry in the world today.

Our Christian Beliefs: The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the primary authority for our faith and practice.

Our Christian Beliefs: God’s Reign

The kingdom or reign of God is both a present reality and future hope.
